In this series of new joiners, we asked Andrew Hunter-Osborne about his first couple of months as Supply Chain Director at Oriole Networks. Andrew joined the company in September and brings extensive experience working in start-ups to the team.
How were your first couple of weeks with Oriole Networks?
The first couple of months have been great with a fantastic team dynamic. Having worked in a few start-ups it’s critically important that the team make-up is a blend of deep industry experience, research and academia along with individuals experienced in company building in a start-up environment. Oriole’s team have strength and depth in all these three keys areas which will drive speed and successful execution. There is also a great team spirit as many individuals have worked with each other in previous companies which enables the leverage of strong existing professional relationships to drive us forward.
What attracted you to Oriole Networks?
“Oriole Networks is solving a genuine problem, that without a solution will limit sector growth.”
Naturally the AI sector is hot which always sparks interest; however Oriole Networks is solving a genuine problem, that without a solution will limit sector growth. It’s also important for me personally that ultimately reducing the impact on our planet and energy resources is a core principle.
Anything you would like to share with people on why they should consider joining Oriole Networks?
As with any successful start-up, there is a very flat structure and getting the job done is far more important than job titles/org. charts! We have an enigmatic and enthusiastic CEO who engages with everyone ensuring that the path to success is clear and everyone is pulling in the same direction.
